In First TV Debate of General Election, Moody Runs From His Previous Positions

Westbrook, MAINE – Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett issued the following statement after tonight’s gubernatorial debate:

“Tonight, Mainers saw Shawn Moody run away from his past positions and completely reverse himself on others. On issues like expanding health care, fighting climate change, and properly funding our schools, Mainers just can’t trust what Shawn Moody has to say. It’s become clear that with LePage’s campaign team at the helm, he’ll say just about anything to get elected.

“We don’t need a governor who has a change of heart when the polls don’t look good. We need someone who is truly committed to expanding health care coverage, investing in our public schools, and protecting our natural resources. We need Janet Mills because she’ll stand up for Mainers and she’s ready to move our state in a new direction.”
