Maine Democratic Party Chair Bev Uhlenhake released the following statement to congratulate Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz on becoming the official presidential and vice presidential nominees of the Democratic Party:
“Two weeks ago, Maine’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention voted to endorse Kamala Harris for President, and today we celebrated her selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
“Since Kamala declared her candidacy, there has been a grassroots groundswell of support in Maine for Vice President Harris and her forward-looking vision for our nation. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are working to build a future where our freedoms are protected and every Mainer has a fair shot. I’m proud to congratulate Vice President Harris and Governor Walz on becoming the Democratic Party’s official nominees for president and vice president, and the Maine Dems will do everything in our power to help elect them this November, including winning all four of Maine’s electoral votes.”
