On the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s disastrous Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade and rolling back Americans’ right to reproductive freedom, Maine Democratic Party Chair Bev Uhlenhake issued the following statement:
“Access to abortion, contraception, and IVF shouldn’t be in question – but it is, all because of Donald Trump. Women across the nation are now facing cruel abortion bans and attacks on other types of reproductive health care because of him and his extremist allies. In Maine, Augusta Republicans have repeatedly voted against our right to choose who makes these fundamental decisions about our own families.
“Elections have consequences, and Mainers have a choice this November to elect Democratic leaders from the State House to the White House who are fighting hard to protect our reproductive freedoms and restore our fundamental rights.”
