Westbrook, MAINE - Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett issued the following statement in response to reports that Governor Paul LePage and the Department of Health and Human Services will appeal the Superior Court decision that he must begin implementation of Medicaid Expansion:
“Once again, Governor LePage can’t bring himself to do the right thing by recognizing the will of the voters, honoring the law, and expanding Medicaid. And, as a result, nearly 80,000 people will continue to pay the price for his ideological obstruction. It’s beyond disappointing that we have to continue to have this fight with the governor, but rest assured, we will not back down until the governor and Republicans implement Medicaid expansion in accordance with the will of Maine people.”
