On the 19th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Maine Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Marra released the following statement:
“Today is a solemn day in our nation’s history, a day that we pause to honor the memory of the thousands of Americans, including those from our Maine community, who lost their lives in the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001. Today is a day we will never forget. But it is also a day that we honor the first responders who rushed in to save as many lives as possible, even if it meant losing their own. Today, we remember their sacrifice, and we pay tribute to all those who were lost, to those who survived, and to the families left behind to make sense out of a senseless act.”
