MDP Chairman: House Republicans Trying to Rig Elections In Their Favor

Augusta, MAINE – Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett issued the following statement calling on House Republicans to stop standing in the way of legislation that would fix the clean elections system:

“Democrats have negotiated in good-faith to try to move forward the clean elections fix, but House Republicans have made their position clear: they know they can’t win on the merits in November, so, instead, they want to rig the system in their favor. House Republicans should put an end to their obstruction, pass this routine fix, and get on with their work.”
