Dover-Foxcroft, MAINE – Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett today joined with members of the Piscataquis County Democratic Committee (PCDC) to mark the grand opening of the new PCDC Headquarters in Dover-Foxcroft. The opening of the office in Piscataquis County represents the Maine Democratic Party’s unwavering commitment to Maine’s Second Congressional District and to ensuring that Democrats have a strong presence across every corner of the state.
“Over the past year, we have heard people across Piscataquis County talk about the challenges they face and their hopes for the future – and at the Maine Democratic Party, we are committed to working hard every day to ease their burdens and accomplish their goals,” said MDP Chairman Phil Bartlett.
“Democrats believe that everyone, regardless of who you are or where you live in Maine, deserves a fair shot at success. That’s why we will fight for job creation, for strong schools, for affordable, high-quality healthcare, and for a strong economy that’s focused on growing the middle-class. We are confident that by building our party up from the grassroots and taking our message to the people in every corner of our state, we can elect Democrats who will fight for working families, from the school board, to the Blaine House, to Congress and the White House."
“We celebrate the opening of our new headquarters in Piscataquis County, a place not only for Democrats to meet and plan for the upcoming elections but also a place for all people to gather to learn more about the issues that affect our lives and to discuss solutions that benefit all of us,” said Margarita Contreni, Chair of the Piscataquis County Democratic Committee.
"We are also excited to celebrate the announcement of Dr. Richard Evans' candidacy for the Maine House of Representatives. He is a splendid candidate with impeccable credentials who understands the bread and butter issues of Mainers in District 120.”
The new headquarters, which will be staffed by volunteers, will serve as the local hub for Democratic candidates from Piscataquis County running for office this November, as well as for the eventual Democratic nominees for Governor and U.S. Representative for Maine’s Second Congressional District.
MDP, along with its partner County Committees such as PCDC, are working together to invest more money, earlier, to elect Democrats who will fight for affordable, high-quality health care; stronger schools; good, high-paying jobs; and economic opportunity that will help grow Maine’s middle-class and strengthen our economy.
In addition to the new office in Dover-Foxcroft, MDP has a permanent headquarters located in Augusta and also opened a field office in Brewer last October.
