Yesterday in an interview with Fox News, Paul LePage tried to assert that Governor Mills only cares about one part of the state. The remarks are not only flatly untrue, they also ignore LePage’s own extensive record of failing Maine’s rural communities.
In a Fox News interview yesterday, Paul LePage reverted to his old self—lying about his own record, smearing Governor Mills, and mocking supporters of abortion and LGBTQ+ rights. In response, Maine Democrats released the following statements:
Today, Paul LePage will campaign with New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu in Westbrook, where he will likely try to tout New Hampshire’s economy and its economic recovery, all while disparaging Governor Mills.
“A return to Paul Lepage will mean a return to the years of nonstop vitriol, racist and disrespectful language, and support for policies designed to undermine public schools.”

Last week, Paul LePage claimed that a bill restricting abortion rights would not make it to his desk if he is re-elected because “half the Republican Party wants them [pregnancies] to go to term and half of them are pro-choice.” This is plainly false.
