A new report finds that Maine would be "hit harder than almost any other state" in the country if the Republican lawsuit to overturn the Affordable Care Act and end protections for pre-existing conditions is successful. According to a new nonpartisan analysis from the Urban Institute, if the GOP lawsuit prevails, there would be a 164% increase in the number of uninsured Mainers.

While Senator Collins has tried to publicly distance herself from the lawsuit her party is driving, she was a critical vote for the 2017 Republican tax law that sparked the lawsuit. And earlier this year, Collins cast the deciding vote in a Senate committee to kill an amendment that would have required a study on how the lawsuit would impact Mainers and people across the country if it were successful.

Not only did Senator Collins vote to allow the GOP to continue obfuscating how dangerous this lawsuit is for Mainers, she also voted for the tax bill that made this lawsuit possible in the first place. Now, as the Republican lawsuit threatens health care for Mainers and protections for pre-existing conditions, Collins maintains that she has no second thoughts about her vote for the tax bill.

Despite her misleading rhetoric, Senator Collins has a long record of voting against Mainers’ health care. Read more here:
