Westbrook, MAINE – Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett issued the following statement following this evening’s Democratic gubernatorial debate hosted by CBS 13, Fox 23, and the Bangor Daily News:
“Tonight, Maine people witnessed an exceptional field of Democratic candidates lay out a positive vision for our state focused on prioritizing the interests of working Mainers, growing our economy, increasing access to accessible, affordable healthcare, and making Augusta work again.
“After nearly eight years of Paul LePage, Mainers know all too well the consequences of backward policies and divisive politics – and they’re ready for bold, new leadership. While the Republican gubernatorial candidates are working hard to prove that they’ll be four more years of Paul LePage, Democrats are focused on bringing people together and making our state stronger.”
