Maine Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Marra issued the following statement on Trump economic roundtable in Maine

“This economic roundtable is a desperate attempt to distract voters from the truth: President Donald Trump’s agenda in Washington gives corporations and the wealthy huge tax breaks while leaving many others behind. The nation’s deficit is set to exceed $1 trillion years earlier than expected, some of Maine's top economic exports have taken devastating hits, and multiple family planning providers have just lost millions in federal funds. The Republican politicians who hosted this roundtable, two who were rejected by voters at the ballot box and an unpopular former Governor, are trying to distract from the fact that voters put Maine Democrats in charge to stick up for the middle-class, prioritize health care, and make the state a better place to live -- all of which Democrats have delivered on.”
