Ahead of tonight’s Vice Presidential debate, Mainers across the state are calling out some of the biggest lies and attacks on health care they heard on last week’s debate stage from President Trump.
Instead of presenting any sort of hopeful vision for how he will lead this country out of out of the health and economic crises started under his watch, Trump spent the entirety of last week lying to Mainers about pre-existing conditions while his administration is attempting to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and risk the health coverage of nearly 100,000 Mainers in the middle of a pandemic. He made outrageously out-of-touch claims about the skyrocketing price of insulin many Mainers rely on to survive. And he attacked Americans who suffer from substance abuse even as his administration has failed to take any meaningful action to address the opioid crisis that continues to ravage families in Maine and across the country.
