Following the the passing of the Honorable Donna Doore (D-Augusta), Maine Democratic Party Chair Drew Gattine, issued the following statement:
“I am deeply sorry to learn of Representative Donna Doore’s passing. Her passion and commitment to improving the lives of everyday working Mainers was unmatched. Maine workers lost a great champion today and we will miss her dearly. We send our deepest condolences to her family.”
Doore served in the legislature since 2015. She previously worked as a waitress, bartender, computer operator, store clerk, silversmith, administrative assistant, school board member, city councilor, little league coach and union steward. A proud union member, Doore was a compelling advocate for the issues she cared about, including workers’ rights, education, and affordable housing.
