Job Title: Digital Associate
Reports to: Content & Mobilization Director
Salary: $5,000/month, generous benefits package. The Maine Democratic Party Coordinated staff is unionized and proud to be represented by IBEW Local Union #1837 for collective bargaining.
Location: Portland, ME (hybrid availability)
Start date: Immediate. This position will run through the November 2024 election.
Application Deadline: Applications are considered on a rolling basis and we intend to fill the position as soon as possible.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create social media content for in-state campaign social media accounts, as well as produces content for allies and supporters to share from their accounts
- Identify engagement opportunities for the campaign on social media
- Capture content at campaign events across Maine
- Contribute creative content ideas and suggest opportunities for the campaign to reach new online audiences
- Engage the campaign’s online communities and share content for distribution
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to Democratic politics and ideals and enthusiasm for electing Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and Democrats at every level of the ballot
- 1+ years of experience working on/in political campaigns, community organizing, government or related fields (ideally in a digital capacity)
- Experience creating social media content and managing social accounts for political campaigns or relevant organizations
- Photography, video editing, and graphic design skills are valued highly
- Has an understanding of social media and the digital landscape for political campaigns
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities (with an emphasis on attention to detail)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
