Augusta, ME – This week, Bobby Charles, Susan Collins’ chosen candidate for Maine governor, was denounced by his own sister for his radical, anti-abortion views and his friendship with infamous abuser Dennis Hastert. After endorsing Charles last week, Collins has yet to say if she still supports him despite his sister saying he is unfit for office.
In response to Collins’ silence, Misha Linnehan, spokesperson for the Maine Democratic Party, released the following statement:
“Yesterday, Bobby Charles’ own sister said he was too dangerous to be governor, thanks to his history of supporting abortion bans and refusal to distance himself from an infamous child predator. After Susan Collins endorsed Charles last week, Mainers deserve to know: does she still stand with him?”
Last week in an interview with Politico, Collins endorsed Charles:
