Bobby Charles is the Wannabe Trump of Maine

Augusta, Maine — Bobby Charles spent more than a year on the campaign trail proudly boasting his MAGA bonafides, hugging Donald Trump and making clear he wants to bring the Trump agenda to Maine.

He’s repeatedly praised Trump and his disastrous policies that are driving up costs for Mainers, from Trump’s tariffs and his war in Iran to his budget bill that’s increased health care costs for Mainers.

Charles was so desperate for Trump’s approval that he traveled to the White House during the Republican primary and made a public appeal for Trump’s endorsement. Now, he’s running to be Maine’s version of Donald Trump — and Mainers know exactly what that would mean.

Like Trump, Charles is also an anti-choice extremist, supporting efforts to take away women’s freedom to make their own reproductive health care decisions. Trump and Charles share the same extreme agenda: higher costs and fewer freedoms.

Statement from Maine Democratic Party Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:

“There’s no daylight between Donald Trump and Bobby Charles. Charles has spent his campaign proving he’s a wannabe Trump — embracing Trump’s disastrous economic policies, attacking Mainers’ freedoms and pushing an extreme anti-choice agenda. Mainers don’t need Donald Trump’s policies imported to Maine, and they certainly don’t need his minion running the state.”
