2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process:

Day SIX of Bobby Charles Not Releasing his Personal Financial Disclosures

Augusta, Maine — Last week, the Maine Monitor reported that Republican gubernatorial candidate and DC lobbyist Bobby Charles is refusing to release his personal financial disclosure to Maine voters. It has now been six days, and the Charles campaign still won’t share the records.

According to the Monitor:

“Charles declined to provide his own personal financial disclosure, saying he hadn’t heard people raise this issue yet in the campaign and does not “see the value” of adding personal finances to the conversation at this point in the governor’s race.”

Six days later, Mainers are raising the issue. If Bobby Charles truly has nothing to hide, he should stop making excuses and release his personal financial disclosures.

Statement from Maine Democratic Party Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:

“Day six, and Bobby Charles is still hiding his personal financial disclosures from Maine voters. Every day he refuses to release them makes it look like he has something to hide. Mainers deserve transparency from anyone asking to be their governor — not more excuses from a DC lobbyist.”
