Augusta, Maine — Republican gubernatorial candidate Bobby Charles supports policies that make health care more expensive and unacceptable for Mainers. Charles proudly backs Trump’s budget bill that drove up health care premiums.
He also wants to add bureaucratic red tape to MaineCare that would kick Mainers off of their coverage. Charles plans to fire half of Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services, making it harder for Mainers to get the care they need. And his plan to slash $4 billion from the state budget would mean cuts to MaineCare.
Maine Democratic Party Executive Director Devon Murphy-Anderson:
“Bobby Charles would be disastrous for Mainers’ health care and rural hospitals. From supporting Trump’s Affordable Care Act cuts to slashing MaineCare, he cannot be trusted to make health care affordable and accessible.”
