Augusta, Maine – With just 18 days until Election Day and early voting underway, the Maine Democratic Party’s coordinated campaign is building momentum following its first GOTV weekend, with volunteers hitting the doors and making calls to voters across the state.
The weekend marked the beginning of the campaign’s final push to elect Democrats up and down the ballot on November 3. Across all 16 counties, volunteers and organizers are talking directly with Mainers about the stakes of this election, encouraging early voting, and helping voters make a plan to cast their ballots.
“Our first GOTV weekend showed just how much energy and enthusiasm there is for electing Democrats this November,” said Maine Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign Director Kayla vanWieringen. “With just 18 days to go, our volunteers are showing up, putting in the work, and having conversations with voters in every corner of the state. We’ve built an incredible organizing operation over the last 10 weeks, and now we’re putting it into action to make sure every Mainer knows what’s at stake and has a plan to vote.”
Following the first GOTV weekend, the coordinated campaign has reached the following milestones in just 10 weeks:
Made more than 163,000 door attempts
Made more than 533,900 direct calls to voters
Surpassed more than 17,690+ volunteer shifts
Opened 25 field offices across all 16 counties
