Augusta, ME – Today, in response to Samuel Alito announcing his intention to consider retiring next year, Misha Linnehan, spokesperson for the Maine Democratic Party, released the following statement:

“Susan Collins voted to confirm Samuel Alito, as well as Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch, three of the justices responsible for overturning Roe v. Wade. A vote for Susan Collins is a vote to confirm Trump’s next radical, anti-choice Supreme Court justice.”

Susan Collins is responsible for abortion bans nationwide after her votes to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Samuel Alito. Last month she reiterated that she does not regret any of those votes.
