Augusta, ME – In response to Donald Trump announcing certain tariff exemptions reportedly to “help Susan Collins” as she campaigns for re-election, Misha Linnehan, spokesperson for the Maine Democratic Party, released the following statement:

“Donald Trump knows Susan Collins’ campaign is in trouble because of her unyielding support for his disastrous agenda that has made life harder and more expensive for Mainers. Now, he’s playing politics with our trade policy when Maine businesses and families are already reeling from the chaos of his trade wars. Maine deserves a Senator who would have stood up against Trump from the beginning, not one who has proven to be a rubber stamp to his agenda.”
