Augusta, ME – For her entire time in the Senate, Susan Collins has sold out to lobbyists and special interests, all while she and her lobbyist husband have made millions of dollars.

Misha Linnehan, spokesperson for the Maine Democratic Party, released the following statement:

“During her 30 years in Washington, Susan Collins has become one of the most loyal servants of lobbyists and special interests, all while she has gotten rich on the stock of companies she’s supposed to be holding accountable. Mainers deserve a Senator who will fight for us, not one who works so hard for DC special interests that they gave her an award at Lobbyist Prom.”

Here’s a reminder of her record on serving lobbyists:

• Susan Collins has taken more than a million dollars from lobbyists during her career, and is married to a former lobbyist who took an unexplained $1,000 payment from his old lobbying firm just last year.

• Collins’ husband holds up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in stocks from companies that Collins oversees as Chair of the Appropriations Committee.

• Collins violated the STOCK Act by failing to report her husband’s stock trades at least 25 times on trades worth nearly $400,000. She opposes a ban on Congressional stock trading.

• Collins voted seven times against a ban on members of Congress becoming lobbyists, and just this year was recognized with an award at “Lobbyist Prom.”
