Sun-Journal: ‘Of course I’m going to be voting for Bobby Charles,’ says Susan Collins
Collins’s Statement Comes Day After Charles’s Sister Denounced Him for Anti-Abortion Views, Friendship with Known Predator
Augusta, ME – Today, one day after Bobby Charles was denounced by his own sister for his radical, anti-abortion views and his friendship with infamous abuser Dennis Hastert, Susan Collins told reporters “of course I’m going to be voting for Bobby Charles.” The admission that she is voting for a right-wing, anti-abortion Trump supporter with connections to an infamous child predator came on the one year anniversary of Collins’ vote to block the release of the Epstein files.
In response to Collins’ continued support for Charles, Devon Murphy-Anderson, Executive Director of the Maine Democratic Party, released the following statement:
“Bobby Charles’ own sister thinks he’s too dangerous to be governor because of his anti-abortion views and refusal to disavow an infamous child predator – but Susan Collins is still all-in on putting him in charge of our state. Whether it’s on the Senate floor in Washington or at the ballot box in Maine, Trump and his far-right supporters can always count on Susan Collins’ vote when they need it.”
