2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process

2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process:

Why Is Troy Running?

“This campaign will honor the grassroots movement that brought us to this moment by making it bigger, deeper, and more rooted in the lives of Mainers who have been ignored for too long by Susan Collins.”

“From Aroostook County to Portland, from the coast to the woods, people are tired of a system that works for corporations, billionaires, and the already powerful while working families struggle with health care costs, housing, prescription drugs, child care, utility bills, and the fear that their kids will have to leave Maine to build a decent life.

I come to this race as a Mainer by birth, a logger by trade, and someone who has spent my public life taking on powerful interests and delivering for working people. That is how this campaign will move forward: neighbor to neighbor, union hall to small business, farm to fishing pier, campus to kitchen table, listening first and organizing everywhere.

We will build a campaign that welcomes everyone who believes Maine’s next Senator should fight for working people, protect reproductive freedom, defend our democracy, strengthen rural communities, and make sure every person can live with dignity.

No Mainer should be written off because of where they live, what they do for work, how much money they make, or who they are. This movement is about putting power back where it belongs: in the hands of the people of Maine. That is how we defeat Susan Collins, and that is how we make sure no Mainer is left behind.”
