Collins Call Out: Collins Pushing Bill to Fund ICE with No Reforms or Accountability

Augusta, Maine – Today, after she was silent on the issue for days, Susan Collins claims she’s asked Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to pause the immigration enforcement surge in Maine and Minnesota – even as she’s actively pushing forward a funding bill that keeps ICE fully armed and in our communities and refusing to hold Donald Trump accountable.

Maine Democratic Party spokesperson Kristi Johnston released the following statement:

“For weeks, Susan Collins has done nothing to stand up to Trump while ICE sowed fear in Maine communities. What’s more, she is leading the charge to pass more funding for ICE without any additional reforms or accountability. Mainers will see through her desperate attempt to save face as she faces some of the worst favorability ratings of her career.”
