2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process:

Day ELEVEN – Still No Answers from Bobby Charles

Augusta, Maine — Eleven days after the Maine Monitor first reported that Republican gubernatorial candidate and DC lobbyist Bobby Charles refused to release his personal financial disclosures, Charles is still keeping Maine voters in the dark.

According to the Monitor:

“Charles declined to provide his own personal financial disclosure, saying he hadn’t heard people raise this issue yet in the campaign and does not “see the value” of adding personal finances to the conversation at this point in the governor’s race.”

Statement from Maine Democratic Party Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:

“Eleven days later, Bobby Charles still won’t tell Maine voters what he’s hiding. Transparency shouldn’t be optional for someone asking to be governor, especially a longtime DC lobbyist with deep ties to special interests. Every day Charles refuses to release his financial disclosures raises more questions about whose interests he’s really looking out for.”
