Augusta, Maine – Following the Maine Democratic Party’s announcement of its process to fill the Senate nominee vacancy, Chair of the Chairs Caucus Wayne Kinney praised the party for its transparent and inclusive process and for ensuring Democrats statewide have a meaningful voice in selecting the party’s nominee.
Statement from Chair of the Chairs Caucus Wayne Kinney:
“The Maine Democratic Party has created one of the most open, transparent, and inclusive nominating processes I’ve ever seen. I truly believe this is the strongest process we could have put in place to ensure Democrats from every corner of Maine have a voice. I’m proud to say that all 16 county Democratic committees stand behind this process because it’s fair, thoughtful, and puts Maine Democrats at the center of choosing our nominee.”
The Maine Democratic Party will hold a nominating convention on Saturday, July 25, during which 601 delegates will vote on the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate.
