MDP Congratulates Troy Jackson on Victory in U.S. Senate Race

Augusta, Maine – Following Troy Jackson’s victory in Maine’s U.S. Senate race, Maine Democratic Party Executive Director Devon Murphy-Anderson released the following statement:

“Tonight, we congratulate Troy Jackson on his election to the United States Senate.

“From working in the woods as a logger to serving as President of the Maine Senate, Troy has spent his career fighting for working Mainers. In just 101 days, he built a campaign that took on a six-term incumbent and won. He traveled across Maine, answered tough questions, and showed voters exactly the kind of senator he would be: someone who shows up, listens, and fights for them.

“After nearly 30 years in Washington, Susan Collins’ record caught up with her. From helping pave the way for the overturning of Roe v. Wade to backing devastating Medicaid cuts and siding with Donald Trump 96% of the time, she repeatedly put Trump and powerful special interests ahead of Mainers. Tonight, voters held her accountable.

“We are incredibly proud of Troy, his campaign team, and the thousands of volunteers who made this victory possible. Together, we built the largest coordinated campaign in Maine history, with 25 field offices across all 16 counties and more than 2 million voter contact attempts. Tonight’s victory belongs to everyone who put in the work to make it happen.”
