Charles is failing in his attempts to distance himself from the Trump-Vance administration and MAGA crowd now that he’s in the general election. Recently, he was caught on tape saying he’ll call his “friend” Tom Homan to send Trump’s ICE to Maine polling locations – underscoring his undeniable ties to the Trump world.
Statement from Maine Democratic Party Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“There’s no daylight between Bobby Charles and J.D. Vance or Donald Trump. While Mainers are struggling under the Trump-Vance economy, Charles thinks the MAGA stamp of approval is ‘wonderful.’ Hardworking Maine voters who are watching their costs rise and every dollar stretch a little further certainly disagree.”
Let’s not forget: During the Republican primary, Charles flew to DC to appeal to Trump and his team, practically begging for Trump’s endorsement. Charles also supports Trump’s disastrous economic policies that are driving up costs for Mainers, which include Trump’s war in Iran, tariffs, and budget bill.
Bobby Charles is significantly behind in all three public polls for this race.
