2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process

2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process:

New Poll: Susan Collins is Second Most Unpopular Senator in the Country

Augusta, Maine – New Morning Consult polling underscores just how far Susan Collins has fallen with Maine voters as she heads toward a reelection campaign: only about 2 in 5 voters approve of her job performance, while a majority – 54% – disapprove.

Maine Democratic Party spokesperson Kristi Johnston:

“This polling confirms what Mainers already know: Susan Collins has spent almost 30 years in Washington siding with national Republicans and special interests instead of the people she represents. From repeatedly refusing to hold Donald Trump accountable to backing policies that raise costs and slash health care for working families, Collins has lost the trust of Maine voters – and it shows.”

In national approval rankings of all 100 U.S. senators, she ranks as the second most unpopular senator in the United States, trailing only Mitch McConnell in voter disapproval.
