Maine Democratic Party Statement on Maine Senate Primary

Augusta, Maine – Today, Maine Democratic Party executive director Devon Murphy-Anderson made the following statement on the Maine U.S. Senate primary:

“Governor Mills is a trailblazer who has fought hard for Maine, from expanding health care to standing up to the Trump administration’s abuses. We applaud Governor Mills for all she has achieved for Mainers.

“The Maine Democratic party is neutral in primaries and will be proud to support our Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, along with our nominees in races up and down the ballot.

“As we head into our convention weekend, we are laser-focused on holding Susan Collins accountable for voting 93% of the time with President Trump, enabling the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and greenlighting disastrous Medicaid cuts. Maine Democrats are mobilized, energized, and determined to elect a Democrat to the Senate and retire Susan Collins in November.”
