2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process:

BREAKING: Collins is Deciding Vote to Advance GOP Bill That Will Devastate Maine Lives, Gut Medicaid and Critical Life-Saving Services

Augusta, Maine – Serving as the deciding vote, Susan Collins just gave Donald Trump and Senate Republicans the green light to advance her party’s toxic reconciliation bill that will have grave impacts on Mainers. Instead of heeding the call of Mainers who urged her to reject the bill and stop it from proceeding, Collins didn’t “let the Republicans down,” just like MAGA voices said she wouldn’t.

Here is just a sample of what is in the bill Collins voted to allow:

Maine Democratic Party spokesperson Tommy Garcia:
“Susan Collins was the deciding vote to advance a bill that will have devastating impacts on Mainers – from gutting MaineCare to shuttering other programs people rely on – all to pay for tax giveaways to billionaires. Collins’ role in moving this bill forward and her decision to hang Mainers out to dry will lead voters to reject her in 2026.”
