Collins Call Out: Collins Has “No Second Thoughts About Supporting” OMB Director Russ Vought, Despite Feigning Concern

Just two days ago Collins offered no regrets in confirming Russ Vought.

Augusta, Maine – Today, Susan Collins is feigning concern about OMB Director Russ Vought’s mass firings.

But Collins has stood firm in her support of Vought — two days ago, Collins reportedly had “no second thoughts about supporting his confirmation.”

Reminder: Before Collins voted to confirm him, Vought said “there certainly is going to be mass layoffs and firings,” and “we want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected … we want them to not want to go to work … we want their funding to be shut down.”

  • Maine Public: “Collins said Vought was well-qualified for the job”

Maine Democratic Party spokesperson Tommy Garcia:
“Susan Collins has doubled down on her support for Russ Vought even as he weakens Congress, lays off thousands, and inflicts harm on federal employees during the GOP shutdown. This is even more proof that no matter how much she feigns concern, Collins will always support the GOP agenda that is harming Mainers.”
