Does Susan Collins Agree With Fellow GOP Nominee Bobby Charles That Trump Should Send ICE to Maine Polls?

Augusta, ME – This week, after reporting from the Bangor Daily News revealed that Maine GOP gubernatorial nominee Bobby Charles plans to ask Trump to send ICE to Maine’s polls to help Maine Republicans, Susan Collins has yet to say whether or not she agrees with her fellow Maine Republican candidate. Earlier this year, Collins voted to give Trump’s ICE $70 billion with no guardrails even after Trump refused to rule out sending ICE to polling places.

In response to Collins’ silence, Misha Linnehan, spokesperson for the Maine Democratic Party, released the following statement:

“Maine Republicans are encouraging Trump to send his armed, masked ICE agents to intimidate voters at Maine voting locations this year, and Susan Collins has refused to tell them to stand down. Collins needs to be honest – does she agree with her partner on the Maine GOP ticket that Trump’s ICE should be policing the polls here on Election Day?”
