“He was met with thousands of people just like him. Our job is to give them a campaign worthy of that effort and a person that can deliver.
I know how to build movements from nothing, because I’ve done it. During COVID, I organized volunteers to bring computers into ICUs so dying patients could say goodbye to their families, and led a public art initiative to help us grieve the people we lost — work that helped introduce federal legislation for a National COVID Memorial Day. Both started with nothing but my desire for change.
As your nominee, I’ll re-create that energy and campaign in all counties, work with county committees and turn the delegates chosen for this convention into the backbone of the general election. I’ll run a listening-first campaign by showing up everywhere to hear what Mainers need so that they see me as a representative of the state. But, I’ll bring a level of creativity and freshness that will generate hope. I will use my multitude of skills to address their anger, to mutate that into hope, and make it fun to campaign again. That’s how we win by being hard workers with creative new ideas, by showing voters that we see them, their issues, and we can do something new about them.
Any child of Maine knows that when someone needs help and you have the tools, you stop. I have the tools for this race, and the tools for this moment in our country. I want to help. Together, we can make this work.”
