Augusta, Maine — Today, Bobby Charles won the Republican gubernatorial primary. Devon Murphy-Anderson, executive director of the Maine Democratic Party, released the following statement:
“Bobby Charles is a Donald Trump minion who wants to bring the MAGA agenda to Maine. Charles’ dangerous agenda, which includes an unrealistic state budget proposal, kicking Mainers off of MaineCare, rolling back abortion rights, and rubber stamping the Trump economy that has led to higher grocery, electricity, gas, and health care costs, are out of touch with Maine families. Charles is a far-right extremist who doesn’t stand a chance at the ballot box this November.”

- Charles wants to kick Mainers off of MaineCare: Bobby Charles wants to slash enrollment through imposing burdensome red tape. Nearly 400,000 Mainers rely on MaineCare for their insurance and 84% of Mainers disagree with Bobby Charles’ agenda to roll back MaineCare eligibility.
