Maine Democratic Party Statement on Second Republican Debate

Augusta, Maine — Tonight, five Republican gubernatorial candidates took the stage for the CBS 13 and Bangor Daily News debate.

Maine Democratic Party Chairman Charlie Dingman released the following statement:

“Once again, the Republican gubernatorial candidates did not shy away from their extreme agenda, including banning abortion, cutting MaineCare, and supporting Donald Trump’s harmful policies. Tonight’s debate made clear that Maine Republicans are running straight out of the MAGA playbook and will eagerly go after each other as they race to the right. Mainers don’t want that extremism in Augusta and will reject these dangerous agendas at the ballot box in November.”
