Augusta, ME – Today, following Troy Jackson winning the first debate in the US Senate race, Devon Murphy-Anderson, Executive Director of the Maine Democratic Party, released the following statement:
“Tonight, Troy Jackson won the first US Senate debate by showing Mainers that he is a champion for working people who will always fight for their jobs, their health care, and their rights. We knew that this debate was going to be about Susan’s record, and Troy stood tall on stage and held Susan to account. On the anniversary of her vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, which led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Susan Collins was not able to escape her record of having voted with Trump 96% of the time – nor was she able to answer the concerns that Mainers have about her corruption and ties to billionaires and powerful corporations.”
