New Report: Collins’ Rural Health Care Fund Falls Billions Short for Maine

Augusta, Maine – A new report from the Maine Center for Economic Policy shows that Susan Collins’ Rural Health Transformation Program has utterly failed to address the damage caused by the Medicaid cuts she greenlit.

While the law delivered trillions in tax breaks to wealthy households and large corporations, a new analysis shows Maine is projected to lose a net $1.75 billion proving that Collins’ program “doesn’t fix the problem.”

Maine Democratic Party Executive Director Devon Murphy-Anderson released the following statement:

“Susan Collins’ rural health care fund is a disaster that doesn’t even come close to protecting Maine hospitals. Maine is on track to lose a net $1.75 billion in health care funding, leaving rural hospitals across the state to pay the price. Mainers are once again left facing the consequences of the cuts she greenlit.”
