REMINDER: Collins Said She “Cast the Right Vote” on Kavanaugh

Augusta, Maine – Today, Susan Collins dodged a question from a reporter about whether she regrets her vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

When she launched her reelection campaign in February, Collins told News Center Maine that she believed she “cast the right vote” on Kavanaugh. Collins has also previously said that she has “no regrets” on key votes she has taken that continue to harm Mainers and people across the country.

Maine Democratic Party spokesperson Kristi Johnston released the following statement:

“Susan Collins says she cast the right vote on Brett Kavanaugh. She turned her back on women who lost a constitutional right because of that decision. Collins helped put Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, and when Roe v. Wade was overturned, she refused to take responsibility. Mainers have not forgotten the role she played and they won’t forget it in 2026.”
