Susan Collins Votes Against Affordable Housing Investment

Augusta, Maine – Today, Susan Collins voted against an amendment from Sen. Maggie Hassan that would help address the housing shortage by supporting the construction of 7 million new homes and expanding affordable housing opportunities.

Maine Democratic Party spokesperson Kristi Johnston released the following statement:

“Susan Collins had a chance to support a serious effort to lower housing costs and expand access to affordable homes, but she voted no. Mainers are being priced out of their communities and are facing skyrocketing costs. Instead of backing solutions to our housing crisis, Collins once again sided with Republicans and turned her back on Mainers trying to get by.”
