Collins Call Out: Collins Feigns Concern About OMB Director She Confirmed

OMB Director publicly shared the same priorities he is currently pushing just months before Collins confirmed him

Augusta, Maine – Today, Susan Collins feigned concern over Trump OMB Director Russ Vought’s threats of mass firings to government workers. But earlier this year, she voted to confirm Vought – despite his clear plans to terminate thousands of government workers.

In fact, before Collins voted to confirm him, Vought said “there certainly is going to be mass layoffs and firings,” and “we want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected … we want them to not want to go to work … we want their funding to be shut down.”

Last week, Collins followed President Trump’s order to not “even bother dealing with” Democrats on government funding when she voted against a bill that would have saved health care for 50,000 Mainers who are at risk of seeing their insurance premiums increase by double digits when enhanced premium ACA tax credits expire.
