2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process

2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process:

Elizabeth Dickerson

U.S. Senate Candidate

Why Is Elizabeth Running?

“I believe in a world where everyone belongs, but the disparity between the rich and the poor keeps growing. I believe that with power, responsibility should follow.”

“Being a leader should mean looking out for people who need help. About instilling hope. Shining a light of truth in the darkness of the White House’s endless wars, billions of dollars of wasteful spending on frivolous and self-serving projects, and endless venomous attacks on social media. How can we find hope, when climate change threatens to destroy our planet, when so many are hungry, when it seems like a regular person can’t buck the system? We do this by turning to the neighbor next to us and saying, “How can I help?” And no matter who you are or how little you have, there’s something each of us can do to change another person’s day. Hope is as simple as one moment of opening a door for someone, mowing a lawn for your elderly neighbor, or helping someone who has given up hope in the system register
to vote. Hope is as simple as a smile or a kind word. Hope lives inside each of us: we simply need each other for that hope to grow. Neighbor by neighbor, town by town, a new morning of hope must dawn, one small action at a time. Maine people can do anything we set our minds to do. But we don’t have to live in depravation. There is plenty for all. The Iran war has cost 35 billion dollars. That’s a lot of meals. That’s a lot of single family homes. Maine people deserve better, and the way we’re going to get to better is by voting Susan Collins out, regaining control of the Senate, and stopping the Trump agenda. When we vote, we win. This is how hope becomes action. I can imagine a Maine where we all can afford to sit down and watch the sun set. I know that working together, we can create an America that is a land of plenty and a home once again for all. We can invest once again in green infrastructure, protect our lands and water, recognize the dignity and humanity of all, and make compassion our guiding principle. I know that together, we can work to ensure that we leave this world a better place than we found it. And the first step we must take is to ensure that each of us votes this November.”
