2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process:

MDP Begins Verification of U.S. Senate Candidate Signatures

Augusta, Maine – The filing deadline for Democratic candidates seeking the party’s nomination for U.S. Senate closed at 11:59 p.m. ET last night.

The Maine Democratic Party is now verifying petition signatures submitted by prospective candidates. The party will announce the full list of candidates who have qualified for the ballot later today after the verification process is complete.

The Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate will be selected at the Maine Democratic Party’s Nominating Convention on Saturday, July 25, where delegates from all 16 counties will cast their votes.
