New Poll: Susan Collins Still Deeply Underwater

Augusta, Maine – New polling from Pan Atlantic Research shows Susan Collins’ approval rating 18 points underwater with Maine voters, the latest sign of her growing unpopularity ahead of the election.

The new numbers add to a list of recent polls showing Collins losing support across the state. Morning Consult found her approval rating dropped 7 points in the first quarter of 2026 alone, leaving her nearly 20 points underwater with voters.

Earlier this year, another Morning Consult survey showed only about 2 in 5 Mainers approve of Collins’ job performance, while a majority – 54% – disapprove. Nationally, she ranks as the second most unpopular senator in the country, trailing only Mitch McConnell in voter disapproval.

Maine Democratic Party spokesperson Kristi Johnston:

“Poll after poll is sending the same message: Mainers do not trust Susan Collins anymore. For years, she has said one thing and done another while siding with Donald Trump and putting her own bottom line ahead of the people she was elected to represent. As costs keep rising and Collins keeps getting richer, it is clear that voters are ready for change.”
