QUICK CLIP: Garrett Mason Swipes at GOP Rivals at Republican Convention

Augusta, Maine — Republican gubernatorial candidates took the stage at their party convention this weekend, and the gloves didn’t stay on for long.

Garrett Mason came out swinging, taking thinly veiled shots at his primary opponents. While he wasn’t bold enough to name names, his jabs at Bobby Charles and Jonathan Bush were hard to miss.

WATCH IT HERE.

TRANSCRIPT:

“I’m not a newly converted Republican, and I’m not someone who just learned how to talk like one on social media.”

….

“Others will scream into the void of the internet chasing promises that they can’t keep, cosplaying as a Mainer while asking AI to develop their policy plans. This job is not about loud posts and AI slop. It’s about real results.

And there are those that think that a family name qualifies them to lead. Maine does not run on nepotism. It runs on people who have earned trust by working in the trenches, whether in small business or in government, and I have done both.

“We do not have time for consultants to offer on-the-job training. We don’t have time for someone to figure it out. We don’t have time for political hobbyists. I am not here to make promises I can’t deliver. I’m not here to rely on a name.
