2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process

2026 Maine Senate Nomination Process:

Why Is Shenna Running?

“This campaign will be built on the grassroots movement that started with our ancestors — the people who never made the history books but make no mistake, it was their labor in the streets that made the history.”

“The grassroots movement can’t be bought and paid for. It’s not about one person or one group, and it’s grounded in love, not fear. This campaign will carry forward the vision and energy of the tens of thousands of Mainers who rallied with Indivisible for good trouble, the activists sending daily action newsletters, the good people organizing mutual aid networks to protect our neighbors from ICE, the brave who raise their voices against power and money even when it hurts. I will stand with Mainers — everywhere. Because I’ve always been there — showing up for Wabanaki sovereignty, labor, marriage equality, racial justice, immigrants’ rights, women’s rights and reproductive justice. This is about every single Mainer who loves our neighbors and fears for the future of our country. Together, we will fight back. We will meet this moment. We will come together, and we will win.”
